And following its release Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, commented:

“It’s very pleasing to see that Yorkshire and the Humber is attracting increased investment in the financial services industry and that it’s keeping pace with the UK-wide trend.

West Yorkshire has long been regarded as a ‘centre of excellence’ in this sector and I am determined to continue the work we do to deliver inclusive growth and attract even greater levels of investment into our region’s economy.

The survey makes it clear they are attracted by locations with a skilled workforce and the government should recognise this and release more funding which will allow us to drive our region’s future growth and prosperity even further.”

This EY attractiveness survey also highlighted that global investors want to see the Government prioritise levelling up in the North.
