UK Shared Prosperity Fund Pillar 3: People and Skills in West Yorkshire
The UKSPF People and Skills Pillar 3 aims to help people boost their core skills and overcome barriers to employment.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and a significant component of its support for places across the UK. It provides £2.6 billion of new funding for local investment by March 2025. It replaces European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
West Yorkshire has been allocated £83,054,057 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
There are three UKSPF Pillars:
- Pillar 1 - Communities and Place
- Pillar 2 - Supporting Local Business
- Pillar 3 - People and Skills
Pillar 3 – People and Skills
The UKSPF People and Skills pillar 3 aims to help people boost their skills and overcome barriers to employment.
The six new initiatives aim to reduce inequalities, raise living standards, and grow the economy, while boosting confidence, skills and knowledge throughout the communities of West Yorkshire.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority, following stakeholder consultation, allocated over £9.5 million of UKSPF of its funding to this priority.
Following an invitation to bid call, for lead providers and delivery partners, the below projects are now available to provide tailored support for people finding it difficult to secure work, and to help people fulfil their potential.
