Boxing Day bus services survey closes Monday 6 February.

Over 65,000 people used the bus services that West Yorkshire Combined Authority funded on Boxing Day, representing an increase of 10,000 on Boxing Day 2015.

To ensure it can make improvements and keep passenger numbers growing, the Combined Authority wants people who used Boxing Day buses to take part in its online feedback survey before it closes at midnight on Monday 6 February.�

West Yorkshire Combined Authority Transport Committee Chair Cllr Keith Wakefield said:

�I�m delighted that 10,000 more people than last year used the Boxing Day services we provided but we want to see that figure continuing to grow, which is why I encourage everyone who used them, to take part in the feedback survey before it closes on Monday.��

This is the ninth year we have funded these bus services, which have proved increasingly popular and we have developed and extended the services from fewer than 20 to almost 90 routes based upon the feedback we have received from passengers through previous surveys.

�We will once again be analysing the responses to this survey to build a clear picture of how people use the services, what they think of them, and what future improvements we might make.��

Combined Authority-funded Boxing Day buses ran on almost 90 routes, every half hour between 9am and 6pm on main West Yorkshire routes to city and town centres, retail locations and hospitals. Destinations included Airedale Hospital, Birstall Retail Parks, Bradford, Brighouse Castleford, Dewsbury, Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Huddersfield, Leeds, Leeds Bradford Airport, Pontefract, Pontefract Pinderfields & Dewsbury Hospitals, Shipley, Todmordon, Wakefield, Wetherby and the White Rose Centre.

All-day adult tickets were just �3.50 and adult single tickets were �2. Young people with an Under 16 PhotoCard or a 16-18 PhotoCard were able to buy an all-day ticket for just �1. MCard, MetroCard and ENCTS pass concessions were valid.

Announcing the Boxing Day services in December, Cllr Wakefield said:��By funding these services to provide people with transport to the main areas where shops will be open on Boxing Day, the Combined Authority is supporting the local economy and jobs, as well as enabling people to meet family and friends, visit people in hospital and enjoy events like the Wetherby races.�
