Transport for the North�s consultation on it Strategic Transport Plan closes on Tuesday 17 April.
Proposals for a Northern Powerhouse Rail route between Hull and Liverpool, with stops of Bradford, Leeds and York are part of the Plan, which has the objectives of increasing the efficiency, reliability and resilience of the North�s transport system, raising its contribution to economic performance and improving access to opportunities across the North.
Boost
Recent research by economic development consultancy GENECON, showed that Northern Powerhouse Rail in Bradford city centre would boost the economy by up to �15bn by 2060.
A transformed Bradford Interchange with Northern Powerhouse Rail would see journey times to Manchester and Leeds reduced to 20 minutes and seven minutes respectively as well as acting as a catalyst for further regeneration and investment across the city.

Transformational investment in the city�s transport Interchange could, the research showed, create up to 15,000 new jobs across Leeds City Region and the North�s economy could benefit by up to �15bn in additional GVA by 2060.
A decision on Northern Powerhouse Rail on the preferred route of Northern Powerhouse Rail is expected to be announced by the end of the year.
Next Stop Bradford, a campaign to make the case for a city centre station in Bradford as part of Northern Powerhouse Rail, was launched in 2017.
