West Yorkshire transport consultation keen to hear more long term views

As we head towards the last couple of weeks of our 14-week consultation, this week's drop-in sessions are coming to you from:

• Monday 10 October - University of Huddersfield, 11am � 2pm
• Tuesday 11 October - University of Leeds (Parkinson Court, Parkinson Building), 11am � 2pm
• Tuesday 11 October - Wakefield Bus Station, 3 � 6pm
• Wednesday 12 October - Bradford Interchange, 7.30 � 10.30am
• Thursday 13 October - Hebden Bridge Town Hall, 10.30am � 1.30pm
• Friday 14 October - South Elmsall Market, 10.00am � 1.00pm

Combined Authority Transport Chair Cllr Keith Wakefield said: �

�We�re pleased over 4,000 questionnaires have already been completed but we still want to hear from more young people. This is a huge chance for everyone to get involved in shaping West Yorkshire�s transport systems for the next 20 years so we want to hear people�s long-term views and suggestions.

�It just takes a few minutes to take part online at www.yourtravelyoursay.co.uk. or there are the drop-in events where the Your Travel Your Say team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Leeds City Council has also invited everyone in the city to �join in the conversation� on the future of transport in Leeds and to take part in an online survey at www.leeds.gov.uk/transportconversation.

The �conversation� began following the government�s decision to turn down the proposed New Generation Transport (NGT) scheme for Leeds in May, but with �173.5million of funding for the scheme being retained to invest in transport in the city.

The Council wants to find out how people currently use the transport network in Leeds, what they think of it and what the priorities should be in terms of future investment.
