Responding to the HMICFRS’ Vetting, misconduct and misogyny in the police service: review of progress, Alison Lowe OBE, West Yorkshire’s Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, said:

“Trust in the police is key and it is vital that communities have confidence in those who are employed to protect us.

“I welcome today’s national review and am encouraged by West Yorkshire Police’s ongoing work to identify misconduct and enforce professional standards of behaviour.

“However, there is still work to be done and I will continue to scrutinise the progress of the force with the Chief Constable.”
