The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has today published its concluding Report calling for urgent action to ensure children are better protected from sexual abuse.

The report makes 20 recommendations to government and other institutions.

Commenting on the publication, Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin said:

“The report outlines some truly devastating experiences, and it is crucially important that each of the recommendations are quickly acted upon.

“This, however, requires a significant commitment and investment from Government, so those entrusted with safeguarding our young people have the necessary resources.

“This latest report will be fundamental to our local partnership approach, ensuring we are all delivering improvements and better protecting those who are most vulnerable.”
