Kirklees College - Process Manufacturing Centre
In partnership with the LEP, we’ve invested £3.1 million of Leeds City Region Growth Deal funding into Kirklees College’s new Process Manufacturing Centre (PMC) to provide specialist training in process manufacturing and process control and increase learner numbers by over 900 (over 5 years) including intermediate and advanced apprenticeships. Our funding was matched by investment from local and national businesses. The PMC offers a state off the art process manufacturing training facility, chemistry laboratories as well as IT and learning resources.
£3.1 million of Leeds City Region Growth Deal investment helped to fund Kirklees College’s new Process Manufacturing Centre (PMC) and boost apprentice numbers from 70 to 300.
Our funding was matched by investment from local and national businesses. New facilities offered by the PMC include control rooms and packing lines, IT suite and learning resource centre.
The new centre has seen the college develop its curriculum in line with national industry demands and be selected by the National Skills Academy Food and Drink (NSAFD) to as a national provider for two Trailblazer Apprenticeships - Food and Drink Maintenance Engineer, and Process Operations.
