Enterprise Zones: Bradford Parry Lane and Wakefield Langthwaite Grange

Supporting a range of infrastructure and enabling works to unlock a site in Bradford to meet market needs and open up an industrial estate in Wakefield to allow for further development.

Project Scope

Bradford Parry Lane

Extensive remediation works will be undertaken to enable the delivery of a new industrial park in Bradford. Currently, the site is designated as previously used ‘brownfield’ land with evidence of previous mining activity. The site will be remediated, and infrastructure constructed to reduce development risks to improve its commercial viability, promote its development, and create economic and employment benefits.

Depending on the scheme layout and development option taken forward, the site has the potential to accommodate up to 11,965 sqm of commercial floorspace accommodating up to 489 new jobs.

A new signalised junction at Sticker Lane and a road through the site will be constructed to improve heavy goods vehicle access to both the site and the wider Bowling Back Lane area. This new section of highway will improve access from Parry Lane to Sticker Lane and surrounding areas and reduce traffic on Leeds Road which will improve bus journey times on the main bus route between Bradford and Leeds city centres.

Wakefield Langthwaite Grange

An extension to an existing industrial estate will be created by providing an access road to the site to allow further development. Remedial works and site infrastructure (e.g., services, roads, and balancing ponds) will also be created as part of the overall development. The new access road will enable an estimated 25,548 sqm (275,000 sqft) of commercial floorspace.
