Knottingley Skills, Business and Services Hub

The project will provide an energy efficient centralised community hub that will support business growth and skills and promote a range of community lifestyle and sport initiatives increasing the health and wellbeing of the local community.

Project Scope

The existing Kellingley Miner’s Welfare building will be refurbished to become a centralised community hub that will bring together a range of community groups, businesses, and council services. The works will include the installation of energy efficient boilers, insulated cladding and the installation of new windows and doors.



This scheme is expected to achieve the following outputs:

  • Create 20 additional construction jobs
  • Create 5 new jobs
  • Safeguard 11.5 jobs
  • Assist 10 Businesses
  • Create 72 Sqm new learning space
  • 200 Learners assisted in courses leading to a full qualification
  • Create 1,943 square metres of Commercial floor space
