Leeds City Region Growth Deal investment is helping regenerate Barnsley town centre, in partnership with Barnsley Town Council.
Once works are complete, our investment will have supported:
- A new, landscaped public town square looking into the refurbished indoor market
- 651 jobs will be created
- A retail and leisure development including cinema and bowling
- A revamped centre and market hall that will also include a new food hall and market kitchen
- An extension to Lambra Road to create an all-new shopping boulevard
- A state-of-the-art community space and central library
- Easy-access, open-air car parking
