Our Leeds City Region Growth Deal investment is helping to fund critical preparation works on land in east Leeds that will eventually be used for up to 400 new homes.

This project began with the relocation of an existing Leeds City Council plant nursery, to purpose built facilities funded at Whinmoor Grange, which safeguarded 100 jobs. At Red Hall the demolition of redundant buildings and remediation of the site, has concluded. The site is currently being marketed to prospective developers.

The plans for the new homes will be confirmed once the developer is selected. When work begins on site, 100 homes are expected by circa 2025 with the remainder being built up to 2029.  The site is a total of 12.4 hectares of land which will be developed adjacent to the new East Leeds Orbital Ring Road.
