We are working with Superfast West Yorkshire and York, our partner councils, Broadband Delivery UK (DCMS), ERDF and BT Openreach to speed up broadband speeds for up to 98% of West Yorkshire and York.
Phase one of the project - which is funded through the European Regional Development Fund; Department for Culture, Media and Sport; BT; and Bradford, Calderdale, Leeds and Wakefield councils – was completed three months ahead of schedule and has successfully put in place the infrastructure (you’ll see these as cabinets on the street) we need to connect 97% of Bradford, Leeds, Calderdale and Wakefield – a total of 64,500 homes and businesses. Click here to see if you can benefit.
Phase two will extend superfast coverage to a further 44,623 homes and businesses all over West Yorkshire (including Kirklees) and York. It is expected that more than 98 per cent of homes and businesses in West Yorkshire and York will have access to fibre broadband by the end of June 2021.
You can register to find out more about broadband in your area – including requesting fibre optic broadband direct to your home – on the Superfast West Yorkshire and York website.
