The LEP’s £1 million Growing Places Fund loan to local employer OE Electrics will enable the manufacturer to double in size eventually as almost 150 extra jobs are created. OE Electrics is a specialist manufacturer of cable management solutions with new contracts in global airport seating and Further Education in the UK.
The LEP’s £1 million Growing Places Fund loan to local employer OE Electrics has enabled a doubling of the manufacturer's capacity. Almost 60 extra jobs have been created with more to follow. OE Electrics is a specialist manufacturer of cable management solutions with new contracts in global airport seating and Further Education in the UK.
The firm built the facility to a high energy-saving specification complete with LED lighting and solar panels and combined manufacture in a single location to become more efficient.
The company have an apprenticeship programme that has created 4 apprenticeships so far, increasing to 10 by 2025.
About the Growing Places Fund (LEP Loans)
The Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growing Places Fund provides loan funding to kick-start stalled development or infrastructure projects that will create homes, jobs and other economic benefits in Leeds City Region. The initial £35.5m Growing Places Fund investment was provided by Government in 2012, specifically to invest in development schemes that are unable to proceed due to a lack of commercial finance.
