East Leeds Demand Responsive Travel
A project to trial a digitally enabled Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service in East Leeds
This project will trial a digitally enabled Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service in East Leeds. The pilot will see the introduction of a flexible and agile bus service based on demand rather than a traditional fixed routeof scheduled bus services.
The pilot will be the first trial of digital DRT wihitn West Yorkshire and will be used to evaluate the impact, effectiveness and commercial viability of the DRT service for the wider roll out of the service model in West Yorkshire.
During its trial the project will operate in two locations in East Leeds which are:
- East Leeds – Aire Valley (providing links to East End Park, Cross Green and Richmond Hill) and providing links to employment locations outside the zone including Leeds Bus Station, Asda (Killingbeck) and Morrisons (Hunslet)
- East Leeds – Cross Gates and East Leeds Extension site
This project is funded through the Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme and the Local Transport Plan Integrated Block Programme, and Section 106 contributions.
