Kirklees College - Dewsbury Learning Quarter
In partnership with the LEP, we’ve invested £33.4 million of Leeds City Region Growth Deal funding into newly build Springfield Sixth Form Centre launched 15th November 2018 and the newly refurbished Pioneer Centre (Pioneer House) that will enable provision for students aged 19+, with emphasis on creative & digital media, healthcare, business finance, and construction technologies. The new build Springfield Centre, close to Pioneer House, will house 16-18 provision.
The official launch of the Springfield Sixth Form Centre in Dewsbury took place on Thursday 15th November 2018 to showcase the centre’s excellent facilities.
The BREEAM Excellent standard further education facility offers high quality vocational programmes for students as part of the Dewsbury Learning Quarter Project.
The Centre has received funding through a £11.1 million grant with cash flow loan facility of up to £0.85 million from the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, delivered by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, through the Leeds City Region Growth Deal – a £1 billion package of Government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region.
Built in partnership with Kirklees Council, and with funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund, the state-of-the-art Centre is part of the Dewsbury Learning Quarter which also includes the LEP-funded renovation of nearby Pioneer House.
Pioneer House will be completed and open to students from Autumn 2020.
