A62 Cooper Bridge Improvement
Cooper Bridge junction is where the A62, one of the main transport routes into and out of Huddersfield and on to Leeds and the A644 link to the M62 meet, making it one of the most important gateways into the town.
This scheme involves highway improvements, road widening and junction upgrades to relieve the severe congestion that develops in the Cooper Bridge area, particularly during the morning and evening peak. It would also provide the additional capacity that would make local housing and employment growth possible as well as improving air quality.
