A629 Improvements Programme

Our £120m investment into the A629 between Halifax, in Calderdale, and Huddersfield, in Kirklees, will help reduce congestion, improve journey times, boost public transport use and improve cycling and walking conditions.

The works are being funded through the West Yorkshire-plus Transport Fund. In addition to highway improvements, Halifax town centre will also benefit from a new bus and rail interchange, remodelled bus station, new bus routing and improved quality public areas.
