A629 Phase 2 Halifax Town Centre
The A629 Halifax to Huddersfield Corridor Improvement is the largest individual scheme within the West Yorkshire-plus Transport Fund.
The town centre of Halifax will be improved through pedestrianisation of key shopping areas and creation of new public realm at ‘Piece Gardens’, adjacent to the Square Chapel and Central Library. This will create a cultural quarter from the rail station into the town centre.
This major investment project will make Halifax a place where people want to live, work and study, and will attract investment from a whole range of sectors.
