Rail Park and Ride Phase 2 Outwood

Our West Yorkshire-plus Transport Funded improvement works at Outwood railway station, near Wakefield, will see over 100 extra parking spaces added to the station car park.

As of April 2018, the station serves almost 400,000 passengers a year and this is expected to rise significantly. Demand for spaces has forced a number of commuters to park on nearby streets, causing congestion within the immediate area.

The scheme will also provide additional CCTV and lighting.

Outwood railway station is one of 15 stations within our Rail Park and Ride Programme designed to extend car parks and improve residents’ access to jobs, training and leisure opportunities in urban centres.
