York Central Access and Station Access Improvements

This scheme aims to facilitate development at York Central, realising economic and housing growth at scale, and to increase and improve the capacity, accessibility, safety and environment of the York Railway Station.

A new ‘all modes’ highway access will be provided into York Central which will unlock land for commercial and residential development. This scheme will also improve the rail station by, improving the layout and ease of access for all modes of transport to the front of the station, improve interchange between transport modes and create new public spaces.

The scheme will also provide a fully compliant access to the western side of the station, linking the station to the adjacent new development.
