This is an exciting new post with potential for an immediate start.

Can you create stand out content for digital and social channels? Can you identify and reach new audiences through online activity? Do you have a passion to make a difference in our region?

We are looking to recruit a digital and social media specialist to work in the Communications team and very closely with the recently established Mayoral Office team. We are seeking a driven individual with excellent communications skills and the ability to deliver proactive and reactive online content within a fast-paced environment.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

 

The Role

Responsibilities include:

    • Managing the digital and social media communications for the Mayor of West Yorkshire
    • Coordination and development of proactive and reactive content including the production of social posts, web copy and video content
    • Managing online content and social planning tools, and monitoring feedback
    • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders and with suppliers including partner councils, agencies and media

About you

This role is suited to an individual proficient at managing multiple projects and experienced in working with a range of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, such as a busy press office or digital agency.

You will have the following key skills, attributes and experience but not be limited to:

  • skilled in delivering social and digital communications projects and campaigns
  • skilled at providing strategic social and digital advice to senior leaders
  • experience of relationship building and collaboration in a partnership environment.
