West Yorkshire Combined Authority are seeking to appoint a contract officer to join our AEB team.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement that a £1.8bn devolution deal has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role

Reporting into AEB Contract Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the contract management of the devolved AEB programme, held by the employment and skills team in accordance with recognised contract and project management methodology.
  • Supporting the efficient and effective management of contracts in line with the AEB strategy and AEB funding rules.
  • Monitoring finance and risks, compiling reports and identifying issues.
  • Monitor contracts in a timely fashion ensuring that up to date data is readily available and supports the production of detailed contract management reports for a variety of sources.

About you

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience;

  • Knowledge and experience of the employment and skills funding landscape.
  • Recent experience of maintaining and implementing contract management processes and procedures.
  • Competent IT user with proficient user of databases CRM tools and Microsoft packages such as Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge of public sector financial, legal and procurement procedures.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and is able to complete reports and claims relating to contract management for a variety of audiences.
