Here at West Yorkshire Combined Authority we are looking for an exceptional, innovative and inspiring person to lead and manage our Communications, Marketing, Digital and Engagement functions.
As Head of Communications, Marketing and Digital you will be responsible for leading, directing and managing a proactive, strategic communications service for the Combined Authority. You will lead on coordinating all external affairs, public relations, marketing, branding, social media, digital, consultation, engagement and other internal and external communications activities. You will enhance the reputation of the Combined Authority and lead and direct the consultation and engagement activities for the City Region.
You will work with and provide advice and guidance to the Chairs and the political membership of the city region boards. You will lead on the development and implementation of long term campaigns, seeking to influence decision-making at the highest echelons of Government, and working on some of the highest profile issues to affect the UK economy.
This is also a corporate leadership role. You will work with other Heads of Service and teams across the organization to ensure that the communications functions support and shape the aims and objectives of the Combined Authority as a whole. And as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be a visible and influential leadership presence in both the Policy, Strategy and Communications Directorate and the wider organization.
As well as your strong knowledge and understanding of Strategic Communications, you will be a passionate, driven individual with a proven record in achieving results against targets. You will have experience of leading, inspiring and engaging teams towards the achievement of strategic objectives. You will be educated or experienced to Master’s degree/postgraduate level with substantial experience of Strategic Communications.
You will have strong and developed influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to develop effective relationships at senior level, both internally and externally at local and national level. You will have strong experience of working in a high level political environment
