We are looking for a friendly, reliable, helpful individual to join our team in implementing work programmes for the installation of on street infrastructure and other projects relating to the Combined Authorities portfolio of assets. It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.
In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021. The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The CA currently has approximately 14,000 bus stops and totems including approximately 4,400 sites with CA bus shelters. You will provide assistance to the Assets team in implementing work programmes relating to on street infrastructure and other projects across the Combined Authorities portfolio of assets.
You will undertake sites visits, issuing works and providing scheme and development support to the assets team. For example attendance at contract meetings and implementing subsequent actions, reviewing scheme briefs and specifications. You will also update the database and respond to local issues involving all aspects of infrastructure.
You will take a pro-active and corporate approach to leading on projects and bus shelter installation works, including participation and delivery of your directorate’s objectives. You will be responsible for demonstrating commitment to corporate processes and ensuring that these are delivered at all times.
You will be responsible for legislative compliance and coordination of multiple partners, enabling effective operations.

You must have strong communication & technical skills as you will be required to liaise with various teams and contractors on many different projects and assets across West Yorkshire.
You must have good motivation skills to ensure targets are achieved and asset care is to the highest standard.
We need somebody with a high level of health and safety awareness to enforce all aspects of health and safety including quality standards, auditing and fully understand the legal implications of unsafe working

Whilst agile working is an option for most staff, there is an expectation that employees are able to attend the office in central Leeds as and when required.

Please note that whilst it is our policy to recruit at SP1 for all appointments, which is the salary stated above, each role includes career salary progression, with incremental increases applicable in most cases, on an annual basis.
