We are seeking to appoint a Lead Communications and Marketing Officer in our Marketing team.

At the West Yorkshire Combined Authority we bring together local councils and businesses through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), that ensures that our work meets the needs of employers and residents so that everyone in our region can benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Marketing, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Development, delivery and evaluation of integrated campaigns across the Combined Authority’s full breadth of work
  • Forward planning on an annual horizon, working with internal partners and colleagues to achieve objectives and KPIs for the organisation
  • Day to day line management of a small team of Communications and Marketing Officers

About you

This is a varied role which will suit an adaptable individual with team leader experience, proficient at managing multiple projects and working with a range of stakeholders.

You will have the following key skills, attributes and experience but not be limited to:

  • experience of managing and evaluating high impact integrated marketing and communications campaigns
  • experience of developing, delivering and evaluating strategic communications plans including media relations and securing regional and national coverage
  • experience of line management, relationship building and collaboration in a partnership environment
