The skills and experience of our policy team reflects the Combined Authority’s broad and diverse policy agenda, with most colleagues having a specialism in one or more of these topics. What’s vital though is a willingness and ability to work flexibly across policy areas to ensure we join up across our strategic objectives and deliver on our priorities.
We are looking to appoint a full time policy officer. You will work with senior policy managers across a range of functional areas, particularly focussing on:
- Developing an Inclusive Growth Framework for the Leeds City Region.
- Shaping the integrated policy framework for the region.
- Shaping the region’s approach to public and private sector reform.
- Developing ideas and projects to improve skills outcomes, make labour markets more inclusive and drive business and productivity growth across the economy
- Identifying and leading thinking to be at the forefront of changes in areas such as energy, environment, digital, innovation, active travel, health.
- Identifying how we can develop future connectivity proposition for customers.
You will be educated to degree level and/or have direct and demonstrable experience in using evidence to develop and drive strategic public policy, with a clear ability to apply this to this role. Direct experience in developing or advising on public policy in one or more of the Combined Authority’s policy and strategy functional areas as set out above is essential. You will also have a willingness to work flexibly across our policy agenda.
