West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Programme Support Officer (Growth Service) to join our Business Support team.

We bring together local councils and businesses, through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) ensure that our work meets the needs of employers so that everyone in our region can benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.


The Role

Reporting into the Service Manager (Growth Service), key responsibilities include:

  • Providing project and operational support to the Service Manager (Growth Service) and wider team, including local-authority based Growth Managers
  • Supporting the collation and submission of quarterly claims to the contractual funding bodies
  • Maintaining programme information and processes
  • Checking and verifying funding claims
  • Updating and proactively developing and maintaining project records, including on the internal CRM system

About you

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

  • Practical experience of project support
  • The ability to work in partnership with others
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confident using ICT systems such as Microsoft Office
