It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Transport Partnerships team in the Delivery Directorate of the Combined Authority.

The role will be a mix of working from home and our newly refurbished Leeds City Centre office with occasional travel to the West Yorkshire district partner offices for meetings or to work from their office. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing project management leadership to major infrastructure transport schemes to improve transport across West Yorkshire.

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders including senior managers, Members, developers and infrastructure providers to coordinate, assist and deliver projects and lead on the design, organising and attending public consultation / exhibitions to seek stakeholder consensus on projects.

The role will also include some support for business case writing, appraisal of business cases and progression through the West Yorkshire business case framework for transport schemes.

A fully funded travel MCard (Zones 1-5) which allows free bus and rail travel throughout West Yorkshire is a benefit as part of this role, though there is a current review of terms and conditions which is reviewing this benefit.
