The Economic Implementation Team are expanding rapidly due to the influx of new funds and are seeking to appoint a dedicated Project Officer to join our friendly and professional team.
The Economic Implementation Team, which is an integral part of the Delivery Directorate, has a diverse and wide-ranging portfolio including delivery of Housing & Regeneration, Clean Growth, Broadband, Getting Building Fund and Enterprise Zone programmes.
We are looking to appoint a Project Officer to be part of our Delivery directorate working within the Economic Implementation team focussing on Programme Delivery.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.
The Combined Authority Delivery Directorate is currently managing around £2 billion of investments being used to deliver exciting schemes across the Leeds City Region and West Yorkshire in partnership with local authorities.
The post is required initially to support the Getting Building Fund and Growth Deal portfolios which have been extensive programmes delivered by the Economic Implementation team. Thereafter it is expected that the post holder will transfer onto another emerging pipeline in the service where we have considerable evolving projects and programmes coming forward for delivery through UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Climate Action Plan and wider Policy priority areas.
Reporting into the Programme Manager, the key responsibilities are but not limited to:
- Support partnership working across the organisation and externally.
- Work together with your team to ensure targets are achieved.
- Be an advocate of our strong performance management culture, taking accountability for delivering results.
- Contribute to a positive working environment for your team, with a solid ethic of working towards achievement of our vision.
- Take a proactive approach to internal processes, contributing during meetings and interviews.
- Utilise effective communication channels when working with others.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a project delivery environment and have excellent organisation skills. They will be a confident communicator with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and drive progress on project delivery.
The role holder will be primarily based in Leeds City Centre, although there may be requirements to undertake site visits and meetings across the Leeds City Region. Temporarily working from home.

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
- We are looking for someone who is educated to a degree level or someone with equivalent practical experience of working in a similar role.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 is preferred and experience of supporting the delivery of projects to time, scope and budget in a fast-paced business change environment.
The successful candidate will support the Programme Manager in the delivery of various programmes across the Economic Implementation team working closely with our partners. They will be a visible and enthusiastic team member, with a collaborative working style and can build excellent working partnerships at all levels.
