The Economic Implementation Team are expanding rapidly due to the influx of new funds and are seeking to appoint a dedicated Project Officer to join our friendly and professional team.

The Economic Implementation Team, which is an integral part of the Delivery Directorate, has a diverse and wide-ranging portfolio including delivery of Housing & Regeneration, Clean Growth, Broadband, Getting Building Fund and Enterprise Zone programmes.

We are looking to appoint a Project Officer to be part of our Delivery directorate working within the Economic Implementation team focussing on Programme Delivery.

This is an ideal development opportunity for someone looking to make the next step in their career and gain experience in working on projects alongside a supportive team.

As a step towards becoming the project managers of the future, we will encourage you to undertake formal training, including potential apprenticeship courses in areas such as Project Management, subject to available places and funding, to help fast track your career.

At the West Yorkshire Combined Authority we bring together local councils and businesses through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), that ensures that our work meets the needs of employers and residents so that everyone in our region can benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Combined Authority Delivery Directorate is currently managing around £2 billion of investments being used to deliver exciting schemes across the Leeds City Region and West Yorkshire in partnership with local authorities.

The post is required initially to support the Getting Building Fund and Growth Deal portfolios which have been extensive programmes delivered by the Economic Implementation team. Thereafter it is expected that the post holder will transfer onto another emerging pipeline in the service where we have considerable evolving projects and programmes coming forward for delivery through UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Climate Action Plan and wider Policy priority areas.
