Bradford District is currently undergoing a considerable transformational agenda, with a works programme investment of over £300 million pounds into the City’s Highway and Transportation Network within the next ten years as part of the Authority’s commitment to the Transforming Cities Agenda, DfT Major Route Network Investment, West Yorkshire Transport Fund, Corridor Improvement and City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement Programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious Senior Engineers to shape the future of the district’s road network and make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the City. As a senior member of the Highway Design Team you will play a key integral part in designing, promoting and delivering major projects across the District as part of our Major Highways works programmes. You will be required to manage Assistant Engineers/Technicians and Apprentices within the team to assist in the delivery of projects.

You must have the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and partners both internal and external to the Authority, acting as an independent expert. We require ‘innovative’ thinkers and solution finders that can enhance our teams and enable Highway Services to meet current and future challenges.

The successful candidate will need to be an effective communicator and accurate record keeper and be able to prioritise their own workload and make decisions independently; an ability to use the Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD design package is also essential.

A full driving licence and the ability to drive to sites around the District are essential.
