The Combined Authority brings together district partners, the business community via Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and also takes in the former Passenger Transport Executive (branded Metro). Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people and represents the largest economy outside London.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional person who wants to play a leading role in the delivery of home to school transport for SEN pupils. The role is based in the Combined Authority’s offices in Leeds but may include travel across the region.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • To plan and schedule transport for SEN pupils ensuring best value for the Combined Authority and Local Authorities
  • Produce documentation for the tendering of transport using in house bespoke systems
  • Liaise with transport operators to ensure they meet the relevant criteria to tender for services
  • Process operator invoices
  • Produce and analyse statistical data for use in tender evaluations and management reports
  • Deal with day to day issues surrounding home to school transport
  • Deputise for the SEN Transport Team Leader

The person

The person appointed will be an enthusiastic, well-organised and resourceful individual who enjoys a challenge and working within a busy team.

If you are able to demonstrate that you have a proactive and positive approach, the ability to work accurately while responding to rapidly changing situations & have experience of completing tasks to expected standards while meeting tight deadlines, then we would like to hear from you!

Secondment opportunities will be considered for this post, however, in line with the Combined Authority’s Secondments Policy, you must have 12 months’ service in your current role and seek approval from your current line manager.
