The Senior Project Manager will be in our Transport Projects team within the Delivery Directorate, delivering public transport and active travel projects included within the Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) and our wider transport portfolio.

The Leeds City Region has been successful in securing one of the largest TCF awards in the country. It is an exciting and ambitious programme of transport infrastructure aimed at reducing reliance on car travel and increasing and improving infrastructure for public transport and cycling and walking. This programme is vital in meeting our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region.

The role

You will have ownership and responsibility of a team of Project Managers. You will lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams, in the development and delivery of difficult and complex (high value/risk/profile) major infrastructure projects such as new or re-developed bus and rail stations across West Yorkshire to deliver our TCF programme and our transport priorities.

This is done to PRINCE2 principles ensuring delivery to the required time, quality and cost and in compliance with WYCA’s Assurance process, working in partnership with external partners such as Partner Councils, Developers, Bus and Rail Operators to achieve joint objectives.

You will provide line management of Project Managers on complex/high profile projects as well as supporting multiple areas on other programmes.

About You

To succeed you will have experience of working in a project management / project delivery environment and have excellent organisation skills. Be a confident communicator with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and drive progress on project delivery. You will be positive, proactive, and have excellent communication skills.

It is desirable that you have an good understanding of highway, transport and regeneration principles and practices, however, experience working on infrastructure projects is acceptable.
