West Yorkshire Combined Authority are seeking to appoint a Software Testing and Migration Specialist to join our ICT Services section.

The Role

Reporting to the ICT Business Systems Manager you will provide leadership and specialism for software testing and migration.

 

The Combined Authority has recently initiated work on Integrated Corporate Systems (ICS) project which aims to replace all the legacy finance and human resource systems with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

 

This specialist role is essential for the delivery of successful ICT solutions that meet customer needs and comply with regulatory requirements and guidelines.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing software testing strategies, planning and specification, functional and user acceptance testing, developing scenarios and test scripts, tracking and reporting progress, resolution of issues and advising on go-live planning.
  • Lead on all data migration actives within ICT projects from beginning to end including planning/scoping, development of mappings between systems, cleanse and extract, transform and load, and reconciliation.

Coordination of both in-house and external resources, and prioritisation of their work.

About you

This role will appeal to you if you are excited by working on major software implementation projects alongside a diverse team from all backgrounds and seniorities.

We are looking for someone with solid experience and understanding of software testing and systems migration who maintains comprehensive documentation ensuring technical quality assurance

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

  • Hold a degree in an ICT related discipline or relevant demonstrable practical experience.
  • Comprehensive experience and up to date knowledge of test design and testing techniques and methodologies.
  • A thorough understanding and practical experience of software and database systems.
  • The ability to clearly communicate with team members and other stakeholders.
