The Role

Reporting to the Strategic Transport Modelling Manager you will play a key role in the project management and delivery of our program of major transport scheme modelling tools.

 

This is key role within the newly formed Transport Modelling Team at the Combined Authority and your experience, skills and knowledge will be put to good use as you will play a lead technical role in the management of our program of early-stage business case modelling work for the development of the West Yorkshire mass transit investment package and our plans to franchise the bus network in West Yorkshire.

About you

Ideally you will bring to the role practical experience of using and applying the key modelling tools and concepts set out in DfT’S TAG modelling hierarchy within the development, assessment or appraisal of transport scheme business cases.

 

More generally you will have an excellent grasp of the form and function of transport appraisal across all elements of the 5 Case Business Model with practical experience of the DfT TAG appraisal framework.

 

Additionally you will bring to the role knowledge and insight on the key trends affecting public transport at a seminal moment in the sectors development as we seek to build the transport system in West Yorkshire as we focus on post health crisis recovery. Ideally you will bring to the role an excellent grasp of the data and techniques used to evidence demand for public transport.

 

Your skill sets and knowledge should also help us develop robust modelling that recognises the commercial drivers of major scheme development especially in respect of bus franchising.

 

Above all though you will need to be a good communicator and a clear thinker capable of inspiring and motivating others as you will be responsible for managing consultancy commissions and providing technical advice and guidance to internal and external teams working on scheme design, development and appraisal as well.
