We want everyone to have the opportunity to shape West Yorkshire’s future. We carry out regular consultation and engagement exercises on the projects we support and deliver.
We know that West Yorkshire is an amazing place to live, work, travel to and do business. The introduction of the devolution deal has provided further opportunities to deliver the ambitions of our region.
It is important to us that communities are given a chance to have their say on the work of the Mayor and the Combined Authority. We take pride in making sure our consultations reach the diverse communities we work with. Our priority is making sure local people are involved in shaping the place they live, and a key focus of our work is to continually improve our approach to celebrating diversity, tackling inequalities, and ensuring we are inclusive.
In 2021 we refused to let Covid 19 stop us, we:
- Launched 52 consultations
- Had almost 23,000 people respond to our surveys
- Had just over 10,000 people engaged with our consultations by asking questions using the Q&A tool and joining in the polls.
