Start-up support available through West Yorkshire Growth Hub

Local West Yorkshire start-up support

Local councils can help you get early advice, find workshops and make local connections. If your business is based in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds or Wakefield, contact your local business support team.

Support for young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30

If you're aged 18 to 30, the King's Trust can help you to explore self‑employment, build confidence and develop your business idea through workshops and mentoring.

Support for developing your business plan

If you're developing a business plan, testing your market or getting ready to trade, AD:VENTURE offers support including one-to-one business managers, workshops, mentoring and access to start-up finance and grants.

Government start-up support

All businesses can get support from the Government's Business Growth Service, which offers free advice, practical guidance and mentoring.

Start-up loans

Government‑backed loans of £500–£25,000 are available to help you start a business, with free mentoring included.

Help preparing to launch your business

Enterprise Nation offers practical advice, events, peer support and trusted advisers to help you prepare to launch your business.

Start-up skills and training

You can build the skills you need to launch your business with the Business and IP Centre. Get training courses and workshops on topics ranging from market research and intellectual property to British certification standards.

Support for innovation-led businesses

Innovation-led businesses can get support from Innovate UK Start‑up Connect. It offers funding, expert advice and links into the UK innovation ecosystem.

Technology start-up support

Engineering and technology start-ups can get specialist support programmes, grants and mentoring from the Royal Academy of Engineering's Enterprise Hub.
