Industry workshop - from CO2 emissions to innovation

For many industrial sites, the CO₂ they emit is pure cost, a growing carbon liability under UK emissions pricing, and tightening net-zero regulation. This workshop is about turning those emissions into commercial value:

Lower costs – reduce your exposure to carbon pricing and emissions charges.
New revenue – convert captured CO₂ into saleable chemical products instead of paying to emit it.
Commercial advantage – stay ahead as carbon pricing and net-zero rules tighten, and access grants and funded R&D.

The technology behind it is already working in our lab: an electrolyser developed at the University of Huddersfield uses electricity to convert captured CO₂ into useful chemical products, so the carbon is used rather than released.

The day is deliberately practical. We want to understand your costs and constraints, to shape the technology so it pays back on your site.

Who should attend and why is it relevant to you?

The workshop will be most useful to businesses that emit concentrated CO₂ and to those who advise or supply them.

Relevant sectors include chemicals and petrochemicals; cement, lime and glass; steel and metals; ceramics; refining and energy; power generation and energy-from-waste; food, drink and distilling; pulp, paper and textiles; polymers and plastics; and fertiliser and agri-processing.

Participation is particularly worthwhile if your site:

is covered by the UK ETS or otherwise pays a price on carbon.
produces a concentrated, point-source CO₂ stream. For example combustion flue gas, or process CO₂ from fermentation or calcination.
faces rising energy or fuel-combustion emissions that are hard to abate by efficiency measures alone.
is in, or supplies, the Yorkshire & Humber industrial base, where CO₂ transport-and-storage infrastructure (the East Coast Cluster) is being built.
