Excellent Relax cuts carbon and energy costs

Batley-based bed manufacturer Excellent Relax will save over £17,000 a year on bills and cut carbon emissions after switching to energy-efficient equipment.

Excellent Relax cuts costs and carbon emissions with support from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority

Excellent Relax, a family-run bed manufacturer, wanted to lower their energy bills and lessen their environmental impact. With a free audit and advice from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s business support service, the company found effective ways to save energy.

After the audit, they received just under £12,000 in grant funding. This enabled them to install a wood waste heater to cut gas use and replace their compressor with a variable speed drive model, lowering electricity consumption.

These energy-saving projects will help Excellent Relax to:

Save an estimated £17,163 per year on their energy bills.
Reduce carbon emissions by about 62.32 tonnes each year.

Without the Combined Authority's support, the business would not have had the knowledge or the funds to invest in the new equipment. The entire process has been straightforward and our Combined Authority account manager was always there to help and guide us through the project. The upgrades have made a significant difference to our energy bills and carbon emissions, and we're now keen to explore the benefits of solar panel installation.
