Energy saving courses

Find out what courses are available through the Energy Saving Trust to help you cut energy use and cost and improve sustainability.

Introduction

Energy Saving Trust are the leading partner that enables governments and businesses to deliver energy efficiency and low carbon advice and solutions. 

Working with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, they are able to offer eligible organisations free access to online training on their Knowledge Hub.

What is available?

Three e-learning courses are available on the Knowledge Hub, to help organisations cut energy use and cost and improve sustainability:

Saving energy at work

  • Time: approximately 1 ½ hours
  • Looks at ways employees can reduce energy and water use in the workplace and when working from home

Sustainability and net zero  

  • Time: approximately 30 minutes 
  • Considers what these concepts mean, why climate change is happening and how we can work towards reaching net zero

The challenge of change 

  • Time: approximately 25 minutes  
  • Looks at how to use behavioural insights to communicate more effectively with employees about saving energy at work and home

The Knowledge Hub allows progress to be saved and the course resumed on a different occasion. For each course completed, participants will be awarded a certificate which can be downloaded and/or added to the participant’s LinkedIn profile.

Eligibility

If you are an employee of a micro, small or medium sized enterprise (MSME) or a voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) based in West Yorkshire and are interested in accessing this training, please email the Energy Saving Trust with the details requested below.

Their team will review your request and if you are from an eligible organisation, they will contact you to provide login details for the Knowledge Hub. 

If your organisation is not eligible for free access, the Energy Saving Trust will inform you and share other options for accessing the Knowledge Hub.

Cost

Access to the Knowledge Hub and course modules is free of charge for individuals from eligible organisations for six months following registration.
