Excellent Relax

Batley-based bed manufacturer, Excellent Relax, to save over £17,000 per year on bills and cut carbon emissions after switching to energy efficient equipment.

Excellent Relax cuts costs and carbon emissions with support from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority

Excellent Relax, a family-run bed manufacturer, wanted to reduce their energy bills and lower their environmental impact. Following a free audit and guidance from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s business support service, the Batley-based company were able to identify the most effective energy saving opportunities.

Following the audit, the business received grant funding of just under £12,000, enabling them to install a wood waste heater to reduce gas consumption and change their compressor for a variable speed drive model, reducing their electricity use.

The energy saving projects will help Excellent Relax to:

  • Save an estimated £17,163 per year on their energy bills.
  • Reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 62.32 tonnes per year.

Without the Combined Authority's support, the business would not have had the knowledge or the funds to invest in the new equipment. The entire process has been straightforward and our Combined Authority account manager was always there to help and guide us through the project. The upgrades have made a significant difference to our energy bills and carbon emissions, and we're now keen to explore the benefits of solar panel installation.
