The Combined Authority and LEP have have a number of committees that look specifically at certain areas such as transport, investment, communities and housing, business and innovation, employment and skills, and the environment .

These meetings are held in public and the agendas, reports and minutes are all published and can be accessed on the committees and meetings section of our website here.

The Combined Authority and the LEP have an agreed process for identifying and dealing with exempt information which is set out set out in the respective Access to Information Annex.

Meetings of the main Combined Authority are webcast. You can watch it live or view past webcasts (pre 2020) and livestreams for 2020.

Important Update:  Committee and panel meetings during the Covid-19 pandemic

The Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, which came into force in April 2020 permitting the holding of meetings remotely, came to an end in May.  

We are now holding our formal meetings in person with access to the press and public.  We appreciate that, whilst the pandemic continues and there remains a risk to public health, some people would prefer to view our meetings on-line.

Consequently, the Combined Authority’s committee and panel meetings will, wherever possible, be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel.

Agenda and papers will continue to be published on our website five clear days in advance of the meeting.

Interested in public transport? Have a question, concern or simply want to give some feedback?  If so, you can remotely attend one of our open forum District Consultation Sub-Committee sessions. The purpose of each District Consultation Sub-committee is:

1. To consult with and consider representations from users of local public transport services and facilities.
2. To advise the Transport Committee in relation to:

  1. the views of users of local public transport
  2. service delivery objectives and performance
  3. improving coordination between the constituent council and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority
  4. the progress of planned projects and programme
  5. any proposal referred to it by the Transport Committee​.

A joint meeting of all the DCSCs is planned for July 2021, with the next cycle of meetings taking place in October. Dates of these sessions and further information will be published at a later date.
