More than half a million pounds awarded to projects in West Yorkshire
More than half a million pounds seized from criminals has been awarded to a range of organisations working to make West Yorkshire communities safer.
Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, has released a statement, ahead of today's second reading of the High-Speed Rail phase 2b (Crewe – Manchester) Bill.

“While this Bill moves forward plans to deliver high speed rail to Manchester, I am frustrated that we remain in limbo in West Yorkshire.
“Six months on from the publication of the Integrated Rail Plan, we are still waiting for the government to provide detail on the remit of the promised studies which will look at different options to bring HS2 services to Leeds and options to resolve capacity issues at Leeds station.
“While the government’s decisions on the Integrated Rail Plan are disappointing, we’re committed to work with them to deliver what has been promised and I urge them to involve and work with us on these studies.”

Experts have advised that Bradford Interchange bus station could safely reopen with appropriate safety measures.
