Meetings and Committees

Information and documents relating to meetings of the Combined Authority, its committees, and decision making.

The Combined Authority, which comprises of the Mayor, representatives of the five West Yorkshire Councils, York Council and the Chair of the West Yorkshire Business Board, meet collectively to take strategic, policy and investment decisions.

The Combined Authority has appointed a number of committees which oversee specific thematic policy areas including:

  • Climate, Energy and Environment
  • Culture, Heritage and Sport
  • Economy
  • Place, Regeneration and Housing
  • Transport

All of these meetings are held in public and the agendas, reports and minutes are published for transparency and can be accessed by visiting our ModernGov website.

The Combined Authority have an agreed process for identifying and dealing with exempt information which is set out set out in the Access to Information Annex contained within the Constitution.

All our meetings are webcast for transparency and you can watch them live or view past webcasts in our archive.

Arrangements for attendance at meetings by members of the public

Members of the public are welcome to attend in person to observe any of the formal committee meetings published on our website.

The following welfare and security measures are in place to protect all attendees:

  • We aim to ensure our public meetings are inclusive and accessible for all. Our meetings are also live streamed for people wishing to watch online.
  • If you wish to attend any of our meetings, please email us in advance providing your name, and the date and name of the committee meeting you wish to attend.  Should you have any specific access requirements, please also include those. We have limited space in the public seating area and by notifying us in advance, we can ensure that space is available for you.
  • You are asked to bring along a form of photo ID with you and, on arrival at the meeting venue, you will be asked to sign in before being shown to the public seating area.
  • In the interests of safety and security, bags will be searched by our SIA approved Uniformed Security team on arrival. Please avoid bringing unnecessarily large bags along to the meeting with you.
  • You are asked to refer to the information on our agendas regarding the filming/recording of meetings,
  • There are standards of behaviour that we would expect you to adhere to during the meeting proceedings, including keeping any noise to a minimum. You may be asked to leave the meeting, should your behaviour be deemed inappropriate or disruptive.
