West Yorkshire Combined Authority invests in affordable housing, brownfield regeneration and housing decarbonisation. We work with district councils, housing associations and developers to build more homes and improve existing ones - particularly for residents on lower incomes.
Everyone living in West Yorkshire should have a safe and affordable home, in a thriving community with good links to work, schools, healthcare and leisure. We work with partners to provide affordable, sustainable homes in well-connected areas - creating places people are proud to call home.
We want more homes in West Yorkshire that meet local needs. We will use our powers and funding to move forward new housing sites and support councils to deliver the homes their communities need. This work will also support our wider plans for growth across West Yorkshire.
We will work with partners to speed up the delivery of affordable homes. We will support councils to prevent and reduce homelessness. We also want more homes that can adapt to people’s needs, including those designed using our Dementia Ready Design Criteria.
We want all homes in West Yorkshire to be safe, warm and decent. We will work with partners to tackle poor‑quality housing. We also want more sustainable homes to help us reach our net zero goals and will support this through our Home Energy West Yorkshire service.
We want communities where people feel safe and have access to green spaces and places to play. We also want new housing to link well with walking, cycling and public transport so people can stay connected and active.
