Careers in the arts teacher toolkit

The Careers in the Arts Toolkit is a free resource for teachers, created in partnership with Grand Futures and Leeds Heritage Theatres.

The toolkit introduces students to the many different jobs in the arts, with a focus on roles in theatre.

It uses case studies from Northern Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet and Opera North’s Hansel and Gretel. These show what people in different roles do each day, both on stage and behind the scenes. Students can learn about the skills these jobs need and discover the wide range of opportunities the arts can offer.

You can use the toolkit in lessons as part of the curriculum, or invite an industry expert to help co-deliver sessions. This makes it easy to bring real-world knowledge and inspiration into the classroom.
