Completed

What is the Bradford Great Horton Road project?

The project focused on upgrading a section of the road network around the Bradford Great Horton Road as part of the corridor improvements programme.

Work on the scheme included:

  1. Providing a new link road between the Horton Park Avenue/Cecil Avenue junction and the All Saints Road/Dirkhill Road junction
  2. Improving the Great Horton Road/Horton Grange Road junction
  3. Changing All Saints Road to a one-way southbound between Great Horton Road and Turner Place

As a result of these changes, the scheme is expected to:

  • Increase road capacity
  • Allow traffic to bypass the Great Horton Road/Horton Grange Road / All Saints Road junction
  • Reduce congestion and improve air quality
  • Support connectivity by improving road links to jobs and housing
  • Create a more attractive environment for the local community

This project was led by Bradford Council. Work on the project started in February 2023 and was completed in February 2024.

How was this project funded?

£6.25 million from the West Yorkshire plus Transport Fund.
