The new Halifax bus station was officially opened on 26 July 2025 by the Mayor of West Yorkshire. Read the news story here.
Passengers are now able to access bus services from all 19 bus stands, along with new facilities and features including:
The new design means more buses can use the station, making it easier for passengers to change between services. There are also better safety measures and improved access throughout the site.
This scheme was delivered by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority in partnership with Calderdale Council, as part of the Mayor’s promise to improve transport across the region.
A 12-month defect period started in March 2024. Minor work will still be taking place to correct known defects, such as hairline cracks in the concourse resin floor, and any other defects that may emerge during this period. This is normal practice for construction projects.
