We’re investing in up to 1,500 solar PV and battery systems for social housing across West Yorkshire, helping families save on energy bills while cutting carbon emissions.
Hundreds of social housing tenants across West Yorkshire will have solar panels and battery storage installed in their homes. By making homes greener and more affordable to run, this project supports our goals for a low-carbon, fairer West Yorkshire.
This project will:
Led by the Combined Authority and four registered housing providers, the project will install up to 1,500 solar panel and battery storage systems in social housing across West Yorkshire.

These upgrades will support vulnerable households, tackle fuel poverty and move the region closer to its climate goals.
West Yorkshire Combined Authority are leading the project with Together Housing Association, Connect Housing, Leeds Federated Housing, Wakefield and District Housing as delivery partners.
Work began in February 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2026.
