A650 Tong Street

Bradford is designated as a Spatial Priority Area in the Strategic Economic Plan (SEP). A historically important founder city within West Yorkshire’s economy, Bradford district continues to be a significant economic driver within the Leeds City region, with an economy worth over £9.2bn.

The A650 connects Bradford to parts of Leeds and Kirklees and serves as an alternative access to the motorway network.

The current vehicle capacity causes congestion and results in significant levels of traffic through residential areas, presenting a key pinch point in the road network.

This scheme is likely to comprise of highway capacity, efficiency, safety and air quality improvements along with enhancements to pedestrian and cycle provisions.
